Getting started
Landing Rate measures every landing you make in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and tells you how good it was. You do not need to set anything up: install it, fly, land.
Install it
- Get Landing Rate from the Marketplace in the simulator.
- Make sure it is turned on in My Library.
- Start a flight.
If you still have the older Landing Rate (the one made for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020), turn it off in My Library. With both on you get two pop-ups at every touchdown.
Your first landing
Take off, or start your flight in the air. Landing Rate gets ready once the aircraft has been more than 50 ft above the ground for two seconds. Starting on the runway and taxiing around does not count as a landing.
Then land. Three things happen:
- At the touch, a small box shows your vertical speed for a few seconds. See The touchdown box.
- As you slow down, the Landing details window opens with the whole story of the landing. See The landing report.
- The report fades away after a minute. Your landing is kept in Your landings, with your last 10.
The toolbar icon
Landing Rate has one icon in the simulator’s toolbar: an airliner seen from the front, over a runway. Click it to open the Landing details window at any time:
- before your first landing it shows the Settings;
- after a landing it has two tabs, Last landing and Settings.
The window can be dragged by its title bar. The three buttons on the right minimise it to its title bar, pop it out into its own window (2D only), and close it.
Change what you see
Everything is in Settings, and every change is saved at once. There is no Save button: close the window when you are done. See Settings.
