Flying in VR
Landing Rate works in VR with nothing to set up. A few things change so it stays easy to read and to use with a headset on.
Where things appear
- The touchdown box always sits at the top center of your view, whatever Position says. It shows only the rate, so it never covers your view of the runway for long.
- The Landing details window opens to the side, away from the simulator’s own panels such as ATC and Weather. Move it with the controller like any other panel.
Easier to read
- The type is at least one step bigger than in 2D, and the numbers and buttons follow your Text size up to 150 %.
- The windows are never lighter than 88 %, so the text stays readable against a bright sky.
- The report has a wide scroll bar you can drag or click above and below, and the controller’s stick scrolls it.
Pausing
Pause whenever you like: the box and the report stay where they are and their time stops. Nothing opens or closes while the simulator is paused, and when you continue they carry on from where they were.
Only in 2D
Pop out (the middle button in the window’s title bar) is only for 2D. The simulator does not allow pop-out windows in VR, so the button is hidden there.
